Privacy Policy
This page explains what personal information we collect when you order a BeforeYouBid Scotland property report, how we use it, and your rights under UK GDPR.
Last updated: 16 May 2026
1. Who we are
BeforeYouBid Scotland ("we", "us", "our") is an independent property-insight service for buyers in Scotland. For data-protection purposes, we are the data controller of the personal information you provide when ordering a report. You can reach us at hello@beforeyoubidscotland.co.uk.
2. What we collect
When you order a report, we collect:
- Your name and email address, so we can deliver the report
- The listing URL and your stated concerns about the property
- Your budget or offer-in-mind, if you provide it
- Your buyer situation (first-time buyer, upsizer, etc.)
- Payment information processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card details
3. Why we collect it
We use your information only to:
- Produce and deliver the property report you have paid for
- Contact you if we need to clarify anything about the listing
- Issue refunds where applicable
- Meet our legal and accounting obligations
We do not sell your data, share it with estate agents, surveyors, mortgage brokers, or use it for marketing without your explicit consent.
4. Third-party processors
We rely on a small number of trusted third parties to operate the service:
- Stripe — payment processing (PCI DSS compliant). See Stripe's privacy policy.
- Our email provider — delivering your report
5. How long we keep it
We retain your report and order details for seven years for accounting and dispute purposes, after which they are securely deleted. You can request earlier deletion at any time — see Section 7.
6. Cookies and analytics
Our website uses minimal cookies — only what is strictly necessary to operate the site and the payment flow. We do not use advertising cookies.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@beforeyoubidscotland.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
8. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes affecting active customers, we will email you directly.
